Best Golf Rangefinders with Slope Reviews – Top Considerations

1. Garmin Approach Z82 Golf GPS Laser Rangefinders

Garmin Approach Z82, Golf GPS Laser Range Finder, Accuracy Within 10” of The Flag, 2-D Course...

The Garmin Approach Z82 Rangefinder combines GPS with Laser Rangefinder technology making it one of the most high-end and accurate golf rangefinder out there.

As far as features go, this range finder is packed with a lot of it, much more than the rest. It provides a full-color 2D map viewing as you play golf with the view finder, and it is pre-installed with more than 41,000 golf courses making it an irresistible item for golfers. In addition, the Green view overlay makes it even more sophisticated.

That’s not all. This is best overall golf rangefinder that is also equipped with a Hazard view feature which allows you to scroll through each hazard on the map as you play. Most Amazon reviews on this product talk a lot about accuracy. With the GPS technology feature, the Z82 shows you precisely how far away the flag is and everything about the hole you’re playing.

The manufacturer also added a Laser Range Arc feature which draws an arc on the CourseView map, allowing you have a clear view of everything in the distance, obstacles included.

It also has prompt vibrational feedback that alerts you when your target has been set, and the Image stabilization makes finding the flag easier; you’d almost think you’re cheating. It also comes with the PlaysLike Distance feature, which makes for improved slope compensation.

Another good thing about this Garmin Laser rangefinder with slope is that it is effortless to use. With only three buttons for navigation and selection, pros and amateurs alike will find it pretty easy to use.

The Z82 can also be paired with the Garmin app on your smartphone through Bluetooth for a complete experience. It can save your scores, measure shot distance, show you where the wind is coming from, how windy it is, and so on. You could even connect with other Garmin users on the app. However, one of the major drawbacks of the Garmin Approach Z82 is the absence of a sort of clip on the rangefinder to prevent having to put it in and out of its case every time you want to use it.

Bottom Line

The Z82 is one of the most technologically advanced top rated rangefinders you’ll find in the market. It is equipped with all the essential features you’d require from a rangefinder and more. So if you want the best golf rangefinder with slope, this is a great deal.

2. Nikon Coolshot 20i GII Golf Laser Slope Rangefinder

Nikon Coolshot 20i GII Golf Laser Slope Rangefinder, Standard Version White with yellow trim, Medium

If you require a rangefinder with slope and accuracy, you can’t go further than the Nikon CoolShot 20i GII. Not only does it give accurate readings, but it also provides for more stability when zeroing in on targets. In addition, this Nikon comes with an increased range of 6-800 yards for more accuracy.

It is a waterproof rangefinder, so you have nothing to worry about when the rains come. In addition, this rangefinder is very compact and weighs just about 130g, ideal for golfers who like it small.

This rangefinder has a First Target Priority algorithm. What this technology does is that it helps you measure the distance to the closest flag amidst overlapping subjects and hazards on the course with ease. This is an excellent feature if your hands are pretty shaky, and you’ll find it helpful when making a target.

It is also equipped with multi-target mapping and advanced pin identification technology. This bolsters the ease of using this device for multiple targets with accuracy and speed. In addition, you won’t necessarily need to wait for a prompt or vibration when the target is locked.

The Nikon Coolshot lives up to its name.  As a leader in the optics world, Nikon doesn’t disappoint on this one. A dual display and Nikon optics for both the viewer and the laser make for clearer and brighter images. It also has an Eyepiece Focus Diopter that enables you to focus the rangefinder depending on your vision. So even if you use sunglasses or eyeglasses, you’re good to go.

Furthermore, with this piece’s superior ID Technology, you don’t have to stress over slopes and hills and how far your shot will play. Concerning uphill and downhill shots, it measures the slope-adjusted distance, considering the height for an accurate reading. It also takes care of elevation change, slopes, and other elements in your course. However, many golfers complain that this rangefinder is rather too small, especially if you have big hands. Also, you have to have really steady hands for accurate reading and locking on target. Speaking of locking on targets, this product can sometimes take time to do so with multiple scans and switching of different modes. However, when it does lock on, it is accurate nonetheless.

Bottom Line

If you’re a minimalist and will not mind having more steady hands when focusing, this rangefinder will be a good choice for you. It has lots of features that make it a decent rangefinder considering its relatively low cost.

3. Precision Pro NX7 Golf Rangefinder

This Laser rangefinder provides over 600-yard range, pulse vibration feature when the flag is locked, adaptive slope technology with a PlayAs feature for easy course selection. Don’t worry. You can turn off the slope function with the flick of a button when in a legal play.

Its flagpole vibration locking system is beneficial. Check Price On Amazon 7. Anyork Golf Rangefinder See More Images & Reviews on Amazon Anyork Golf Rangefinder will help you improve your shots every time it scans the golf course. It will help you improve the accuracy of your shots.

If these features do not earn this rangefinder the title of one of the best golf rangefinders, here’s more. The first thing I love about this golf rangefinder is the accuracy, speed, and ease you can lock on and hit your target. The Pin acquisition technology that comes with this rangefinder is responsible for that.

This rangefinder is also incredibly easy to use, even for an amateur. It has a single button on the top, which gives you the distance to your target when you press it twice. This product also comes with a shockproof design to protect it from falls.

If you want a compact and lightweight rangefinder, the Precision Pro NX7 is small enough to fit in your pocket, and you can easily reach for it when needed. It also comes with Pulse Vibration technology that alerts you when your target is locked. That improves golf game speed and overall accuracy.

There’s nothing to worry about when the rains come pouring. This golf rangefinder is completely airtight, and it has a 6X magnification for a clearer view and measurement. It also promises a 2-year warranty and free battery replacement.

All this for a golf rangefinder, and you don’t even need to break the bank to get it. This product is relatively affordable, especially considering its givings. While this is an excellent tool for amateurs and pros alike, if you require a high-end golf rangefinder with more functionalities than the Precision Pro, you’ll have to splurge on a more expensive product. One major complaint is that this rangefinder almost has to be accurately used by the user for correct measurement. If you have shaky hands, you may need to laser the flag pin distance twice to get your target right.

Bottom Line

As far as gogogo laser rangefinder that provides the basic requirements of a golfer on a budget go, this Precision Pro is arguably one of the best in the golf rangefinder market. Not only does it combine its compact design with great performance, but this impressive rangefinder also has slope switch technology for better measurement. They also have loads of positive reviews on Amazon, so why not?

4. Callaway 300 Pro Golf Laser Rangefinder with Slope Measurement.

Callaway 350TL Laser Golf Rangefinder with Slope Mode, 6X Magnification, 1000 Yards Range

Coming in a very sleek and sophisticated design, this unit is water and fog proof at the same time, so wet weather should not worry you with this in hand. While that’s a great assurance to start, this model offers a lot more of the features.

Would you like to listen to some relaxing ‘chirp’ kind of sound of birds while you golf? The Callaway 300 Pro lets you do that with the ‘Birdie’ features it incorporates.

While most other rangefinders will sound boring ‘beep’ upon confirmation of locking in target, it’ll cheer you up with ‘chirp’ sound instead.

Talking of locking on the target, it incorporates Callway’s PAT (Pin Acquisition Technology) that helps to accurately lock on your desired target, not on the trees or other distractions in the background.

It offers quite an impressive distance range of 5-1000 yards with 1-yard accuracy as they promise. The PAT, however, works within 300 yards which I believe you won’t need to go any further from for most shots.

Its capability calculates the accurate distance between you and your target despite the elevation in between. Toggling is about pressing a button and it’s instantly legal for tournament play.

If all that’s not enough, the continuous scan says hi, and lets you get the distance to multiple targets quickly. When there are quite a lot of things around the target, it helps big time.

Most of the time, this unit provides quite accurate distances to the target. But when it does not, it just does not. On very few occasions, it’ll let you down with inaccurate readings and you’ll have to take the hassle to measure the distance again.

Bottom Line

The Callaway 300 pro stands on a sweet point and tends to offer the best of both worlds. While it does not cost anywhere close to top-of-the-line rangefinders, it offers quite similar features and performs on a satisfaction level as close to them. If you want a little more, check out the Callaway 350TL.

5. TecTecTec ULT-X Golf Rangefinder

TecTecTec ULT-X High-Precision Golf Rangefinder, Laser Range Finder Binoculars with 6X...

This is the predecessor of the first item reviewed on this list. Obviously, the VPRODLX is the better model, but this one isn’t a bad choice especially if you are on a budget.

It is compact, user-friendly, and very lightweight. It comes in handy for measuring distance up to 540 yards. The unit itself doesn’t look like a cheap rangefinder. It has a sleek and soft coating and is made of solid material.

The manufacturer also throws in a nice case for ease in carrying this rangefinder. This rangefinder isn’t waterproof, but it is rain resistant.

It has three modes that you can use to locate the flagstick. “First Target Priority” is the first mode that you can use if you want to hit the flagstick despite distractive backdrops. The other mode (Distance Target Priority) shows how far the clutter background is. Then the ProScan is the mode you will have to turn to if you want to determine the distance of other objects from the flag.

What I like most about this rangefinder is the use of high-quality optics for precise yard measurement and image clarity. Sure, it isn’t the most advanced in the world but it’s still good enough for most golfers. Keep in mind that this is an entry-level rangefinder, so you should not really be expecting top-of-the-line features.

Bottom Line

The ULT-X is a budget-friendly entry-level option from TecTecTec. Considering its low price, top-notch features should not be expected from it and when you understand that, you’ll be happy on the way it gets the basic job done.

6. Bushnell Pro xe Golf Tour V5 Rangefinder

BUSHNELL GOLF Tour V5 Shift Patriot Pack, Black, One Size

With Bushnell, you can only expect top-quality golf rangefinders, and the Tour V5 is no exception. This device combines speed, durability, and size, making for a dream rangefinder for amateurs and pros alike. Preferred by most professional golfers, this golf laser rangefinder has a better magnification and clearer copy. In addition, you can see clearly from a distance away.

If you’re not really big on the slope feature, this Bushnell Pro xe rangefinder comes in both the standard V5 without slope and the Slope edition for golfers to who it’s important. You’ll have to pay a little more for that, though.

The Tour V5 has been getting a lot of positive reviews, particularly on the speed and accuracy with which you can get yardage. All you have to do is line up your target and press the button, and that’s it; you get yardage in seconds. This device also comes with improved optics for a clear image of the target.

The ‘BITE’ magnetic cart mount on the side of this product makes it easier to attach the laser rangefinder on the cart and very steady when attached. It also has a PinSeeker with Visual Jolt features, which promptly alerts you with pulse vibrations and a flashing red ring when you hit the pin.

Bushnell’s Tour V5 also has Slope-Switch technology lets you move easily from the Tour V5 Shift in and out of the Slope mode. So when in tournament play, you can quickly flick to the Tour V5 Shift to stay legal while you can enable the Slope mode when out of a tournament.

There’s almost nothing to be frowned at about the product. Save for the fact that unlike most golf rangefinders of its caliber, this one is not waterproof. A detail you won’t mind if you don’t play under the rains.

Bottom Line

The Tour V5 is another impressive product from the stables of Bushnell. It is saddled with enhanced features such as the Jolt technology, increased range, Bite magnetic mount, and the fact that it’s compact and durable, making it a good choice of a rangefinder with slope technology.

7. Golfbuddy Laser 1s with Slope Rangefinder

GOLFBUDDY Laser 1S Rangefinder with Slope, Pin Finder with Vibration, 880 Yard Range Finder, Slope...

Most users of the Golfbuddy Laser 1s have this one common thing to say, that it offers great value for your money and charges fair for the performance and features that it offers.

You get three modes to get the distance to your target.

First off, there’s the standard mode that simply measures the distance upon you aiming at the target and hitting the trigger button. It’s the go when your target is standing alone at a distance.

When there are distractions, you better go with Pinseeker mode, which will isolate your target from the background and lock on it. That way you know that it’s your desired target you’re measuring the distance too, not to any tree behind that.

Upon locking on the target, it vibrates quite strongly.

If there are multiple targets at a distance that you need to know the precise distance to, continuous scan mode is your best bet. Keep on holding on the trigger while you move your aim from one to another, and you’ll know the distance to all.

This unit is capable of measuring targets of up to 880 yards far within 1 yard of accuracy, as they claim. While we don’t need that much distance, the accuracy is quite in point in a medium range.

But it messes up on a few occasions, though.

Looking far isn’t a problem with 6X magnification with diopter. The LCD it featured is not the most sophisticated one I’ve ever seen, but it’s certainly one of the wide ones.

its capabilities are there that you can toggle for tournament legality. This is an IPX4 water-resistant tool so wet weather isn’t the biggest concern.

On top of that, the Golf Buddy throws a nice and functional carry case that is easy to use. It’s a nice touch to the overall package.

Bottom Line

The Laser1s could be one of those hidden value champions that we all look for. Offering close to similar performance as the models that cost two or three times more, it earns the name for itself.

8. Wosports Golf Rangefinder, 650 Yards Laser Golf Distance Finder with Slope

Wosports Golf Rangefinder, 800 Yards Laser Distance Finder with Slope, Flag-Lock with Vibration...

Want me to name a product that offers almost all at around 100 bucks? Three modes, slope compensation technology, lock-on, you name it; What features does it not provide for just a 100 bucks?

The Wosports H-100 AG, ladies, and gentlemen, one of the best budget golf rangefinder.

Details were not ignored either while designing this budget-friendly rangefinder. Take the innovative battery cover design, which we all tend to lose, but not anymore with this unit.

Designed in a way that you cannot separate the cover from the body, so you can’t lose it.

You get all three modes as premium models to measure the distance to the target. The range mode, which is the standard mode, where you aim and press the button to get the distance.

The scan mode to hold the trigger and shift aim on different targets to measuring long distances quickly works just fine.

The Flag Acquisition Technology or flagpole lock works great within 180 yards. Is that the distance you take most of your shots within?

Costlier rangefinders do offer lock-on technology for a target at farther distances than this, but you have to cut corners to offer so much at this price point.

If you’re hesitating to ask for a slope compensation technology at a 100 dollar rangefinder with this much feature already, go ahead and ask for it because you won’t be disappointed.

Accurate distances even when there’s an elevation in between, no worries.

What about the optics? Is that good?

You bet.

6X magnification makes it a piece of cake to aim at distant targets. And it ain’t a problem anymore if you’re far or nearsighted because the diopter adjustability feature will compensate for that and let you see clearly regardless.

Keep it inactive for 10 seconds, and it’ll shut down automatically to save battery. And it better be, because it ain’t great in power efficiency anyway, so gotta try as hard as it can.

Bottom Line

The H-100 AG cuts barely any corner to offer this many features at such an affordable price point. It’s one of the best cheap golf rangefinders that offers just as many features and performance as other semi-premium models. Golfers are overwhelmed with this model and I can see why.

Buying Guide on Best Golf Rangefinders with Slope

You want to consider quite a few things to find out the best golf rangefinders with slope for your money, since they’re not the most straightforward tool ever. Let me make a definitive guide for you, so you know which boxes are needed to be ticked.

Accuracy and Range

If you own a laser rangefinder and you still have to put in the guesswork, then what’s the point? Accuracy matters big time, and it’s probably the most important consideration when shopping for the best golf rangefinders with slope.

It’s not helpful at all if your rangefinder keeps showing incorrect readings that you can be sure of from your experience. You’ll need to take multiple readings which will be time and effort consuming.

So the first aspect you should count your money on is accuracy, and the word of the manufacturer is not enough here. Most claim that their rangefinder is accurate within a yard which is not the case in real life for many of them.

The flagships model usually live up to their claims, and few other inexpensive models also don’t disappoint. The models listed above are among those.

You want to listen to the users of a particular model that you’re considering to learn about the actual performance of that, and then decide.

About the range, it’s not really a big deal to worry about since we’re talking golf here and we don’t need all the coverage in the world. Most of the rangefinders offer an adequate range for golf.

Slope Compensation

We’re talking ‘best golf rangefinders with slope’ here so it’s pretty obvious that you must consider a model that offers slope compensation capabilities. The calculation needs to be accurate and it must allow you to toggle the slope feature for tournament legality.

And how easy to toggle could be another minor consideration. For most models, you have to take a plate away from the tool and store it separately to turn off the feature, which I believe is not really convenient.

Whereas, few flagship models let you toggle just by pressing a button which is highly convenient compared to the other process, so they should get an extra point for that.

Target Lock

Pinseeker, Pinsensor, Flagpole Lock, you’ve probably heard it all. They’re all fancy names to one piece of technology that helps to isolate your target from the background noise and distractions.

When you’re aiming at a flagstick that has trees in the background, sometimes you can get under-confident that if you’ve just measured the distance to the flag or the tree behind that, right?

That’s why having a target locking mechanism is necessary, to assure you that you’re measuring the distance to your desired target only.

Continuous Scan

Oftentimes, you need to know the exact distances to multiple targets around your flagpole to get an idea of what’s going on there. You can do just that with continuous scan mode so make sure the model you’re digging has this feature.

Optics

Often overlooked, optics are crucial. Good quality optic helps, at least that’s what I can say.

You should be able to see through the lenses sharp and clear. A crystal clear lens ensures that.

Magnification helps with zooming onto the target for better aiming. You should look for 5X magnification at least, while 6X and 7X are luxuries that you’ll enjoy.

Few models offer diopter adjustability which makes it easy to see through the lenses even if you are near or far-sighted. So that should interest you if you’re among them.

Build Quality

Your rangefinder is expected to go through some sort of abuse on the golf course, so it’s better if you have a rigid one. One that feels sturdy in the hands will give you the confidence you need.

Build quality doesn’t only concern rigidity, rather it’s also about protection from water and fog. If one tool’s built well with proper rubber isolation, it should be water and fog-resistant.

That’s important because the sun always won’t be shining on a golf course. And when it gets gloomy, your rangefinder needs to know how to protect itself.

Ease of Use

You already get quite a lot on your plate on a golf course so the last thing you want is a rangefinder that’s complicated to operate. Rangefinders are meant to give away distance with the least effort and time possible.

You want a rangefinder that’s easy to operate. You also want a model that grips in the hand confidently and comfortably. If you can’t get a firm grip, it can be challenging to hold and aim properly.

Rubber grips at the right places help with a firm and confident gripping of the tool.

Stabilization technology is another concern. Aiming and holding on a distant target isn’t the easiest thing especially if you have shaky hands. Rangefinders with dedicated stabilizers help a big time here and they deserve a shoutout for making the job easier.

A rangefinder that doesn’t take long to come back with distance also deserves some appreciation. Aiming might not be the hardest part but holding that steadily for a long time is.

And your tool should not make you do that, so it needs to be fast with its calculations.

Price

For a general rule, higher-priced items are assumed to be superiors. But that’s not the best approach when you’re shopping for a rangefinder or a few other things of life for that matter.

There are the most expensive ones that don’t deliver as it promises with the price tag.

What you should be looking for is the best return for your money. And you must ensure that you’re gonna get the expected return, and only then invest the big money.

Don’t just spend a lot and expect it’ll give amazing results, or you might be disappointed.

Do your research and ensure the best value for your money among all the different options, only then make the purchase, no matter how little or how big you’re spending.

Frequently asked questions about Best Golf Rangefinder Slope

What is the difference between sloped and non-slope rangefinders?

Since you’re already looking for “the golf rangefinder slope”, I’ll assume you have the basic idea. In summary, sloped rangefinders help with accurate distance measuring in hilly areas or so. How?

When there’s an elevation between you and your target, the flat distance that you get with a normal rangefinder isn’t the actual distance. You need to consider the degree of elevation and adjust the to the apparent distance to get the actual distance.

If you’re not great at maths, and you don’t know the exact degree of elevation, it’ll be tough to calculate the actual distance manually. That’s where sloped rangefinders come handy. They do all the tough math for you and give away the actual distance considering the slope.

A non-slope rangefinder will not go that extra mile. It’ll simply calculate the linear distance to you and your target, which will be okay if there’s no elevation. But in the other case, that reading will not be accurate.

What is Tournament Legal?

Most of the tournaments require you to turn off the slope compensation capability of your rangefinder if it has that. If your rangefinder doesn’t have slope compensation then it’s already legal for tournaments.

Can I use my golf laser rangefinder slope for other sports?

Yes, you can, as long as that sport requires you to measure the distance to some target, you can use your rangefinder there. Archery is one such sport.

How long does an average golf rangefinder battery last?

Depends on your frequency of use. For a rough estimation, it should last approximately 40 to 50 rounds.

What would happen if I use my rangefinder in wet weather?

If your rangefinder is water-resistant or waterproof, nothing’s likely to happen. If it’s not, you better avoid using it in wet weather.

What’s the difference between water-resistant and waterproof?

It shows to what extent your tool can hold up against the water. Water-resistant means it’s good in dealing with water whereas waterproof means it’s great, that’s the simplest way to explain it.

Let’s Wrap Up

It’s okay to be picky about your rangefinder and you should be since this decision is going to impact your game big time. When you choose the right model, it takes your game up big time.

But when you do otherwise, it only adds stress being inconsistent. So it’s quite a decision and I believe this piece helped you to pick your winner.
